THE FLASH: TRAJECTORY RECAP

There’s a new speedster in town and she’s faster than The Flash. Warning, spoilers ahead…

Ever since Barry was unable to save Jay from Zoom, Barry has been obsessed with gaining more speed. He even tries to pull off an Evel Knievel stunt by running fast enough to clear a canyon. Unfortunately he failed and it’s back to the drawing board. To give the team a much-needed break, Cisco suggest that the group go to a club and let their hair down. Barry, Cisco, Caitlin and Jesse meet up with Iris and Wally. Team Flash’s night out gets interrupted when a speedster called Trajectory uses her speed to rob the place. Barry gives chase but much like Zoom, Trajectory is too fast for him.

It turns out that Trajectory is a friend of Caitlin named Eliza Harmon who works at Mercury Labs. When Caitlin was experimenting with Velocity-9 to help Jay, she shared some of her notes with Eliza. Temptation overwhelmed Eliza and she took the V-9 for herself. After getting a visit from Joe and Caitlin, Eliza knows they are on to her and she zips into S.T.A.R. Labs, locks up Barry and threatens Jesse until Caitlin give up a fresh batch of V-9 for her to take. Caitlin handed over the V-9 but placed a tracking device to allow the team to follow her. With Trajectory on the run (pun intended) and now Barry free of his pipeline cell, he races to try and catch up to her. He is able to tackle her and tries to talk her out of using the V-9. At first, it appeared that he had succeeded but instead she shot herself with another dose of V-9 turning her lightning a blueish hue. Sadly, she degenerated into dust.

As the group tries to understand what happened with Eliza, Harry and Barry come to the conclusion that Zoom (whose lightning is also blue), must either be sick and dying. This was a similar condition that Jay Garrick was suffering from. It doesn’t take much to put two and two together no matter how much Caitlin and Cisco wanted to deny it. Barry breaks the glass casing that stored Jay’s helmet and handed it over to Cisco to use his vibing skills. The reality that Zoom was Jay hit Cisco and especially Barry very hard. Distraught over this revelation, Barry ran off to the canyon and let loose a horrifying scream of anger.
On a side note, after dealing with leaving Earth-2 for Earth-1, stumbling on a recording of her father expressing what he was willing to do which includes killing in order to protect her and then getting a blast of the V-9 from Trajectory, Jesse decides to leave Central City for Opal City. She leaves her father a parting message requesting that he not follow her. It was a rather sad ending right now for Harry given the great lengths he went through and was willing to do to save her from Zoom. I’m sure this will not be the last we’ll see of Jesse.
May the Dork be with you,

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it. So bring your Phaser (set to stun), Lightsaber, Sonic Screwdriver, a Wand, Mjolnir or the Ring to rule them all, because this site is for the dork in all of us.
