STAR WARS REBELS: THE ANTILLES EXTRACTION RECAP

Star Wars Rebels on Saturday night saw the return of a familiar friend to the Rebellion.  Warning, spoilers ahead…

With the rebels suffering massive losses and pilots becoming more and more scarce, news arrives that several Imperial cadets at Skystrike Academy are looking to defect. Sabine volunteers to infiltrate the academy and find those cadets to bring them over to the Rebellion. Having made her way into the cadet training, Sabine befriends a young cadet named Wedge Antilles. Yes, the same Wedge from the classic trilogy. This is a very cool addition to the Star Wars Rebels series.
As Ezra and Kanan wait for Sabine and the defectors, Governor Pryce and Agent Kallus arrive at the academy with news of potential defectors that need to be discovered before they cross over.  Sabine discovers that Wedge is one of the defectors along with his friends Hobbie (another original trilogy character) and Rake. She assures all of them that they’ll be safe with her and that she can free them from Skystrike. Governor Pryce sets a trap to uncover the defectors during a routine training flight. Unfortunately, Sabine and Wedge fall for the trap as they tried to break free of the convoy and make their way to the waiting transport.  Rake is killed and Sabine, Wedge, and Hobbie are captured while Ezra and Kanan retreat and plan their next step.
Sabine was able to break free of her interrogation by knocking out Governor Pryce and freeing Wedge and Hobbie. Assisting in their escape is Kallus who is repaying a debt to Zeb. The trio steals a TIE Bomber and rendezvous with the transport and returning safely to the Rebel base.
Another solid episode that continues to bridge the gap between the animated universe and the films that inspires them.

May the Dork be with you,

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
