Star Wars Rebels continues its strong storytelling with its latest episode, “Hera’s Heroes” this past Saturday night. Warning, spoilers ahead…
When the Empire under Admiral Thrawn’s leadership has seized control of Ryoth, an important family heirloom called “kalikori” belonging to Hera is now under Imperial control. She and Ezra sneak onto the base so that she can retrieve it while Kanan and the others keep Imperial patrols busy. Unfortunately for Hera and Ezra, they are discovered by Thrawn who decided to take possession of the kalikori for himself.
Surprisingly Thrawn agrees to turn Hera and Ezra minus the kalikori in exchange for Cham. During the exchange, Hera creates a distraction by using Chopper and having her family home rigged with explosives destroying both her home and the Imperial HQ. She and Ezra board the Ghost and fly away. Meanwhile, Thrawn seems impressed by Hera and instead of pursuing the rebels; he decides to let them go.
Admiral Thrawn remains a very intriguing character for Star Wars Rebels and I look forward to seeing how his character develops the rest of the way and how he’ll further interact with the crew of the Ghost.
