DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: “Camelot/3000” RECAP

The Legends race through the future and then themselves in Camelot as they try to find the Spear of Destiny before the Legion of Doom could find the other pieces. Warning, spoilers ahead…

In the year 3000, Evil Rip tracks down and kill Charles McNider aka Dr. Midnight from the JSA and steals a fragment of the Spear. Gideon locates the next fragment in 507 A.D. England and King Arthur’s court. The Legends arrive in medieval England to find the fragments when they’re intercepted by Lady Guinevere who takes them to see Arthur. When Arthur summons Merlin, Amaya immediately recognizes Merlin as Stargirl, another member of the JSA. She tells the others that Rip had divided the Spear into four pieces and she formed the Knights of the Round Table to protect it and her.

On patrol, Arthur is captured by the Damien and Rip who use him to enter Camelot. There they threaten to destroy the kingdom if the Legends don’t hand over the fragment. Stargirl refuses them and Sara tries to persuade Lady Guinevere to join their fight against the Legion.  Meanwhile, Amaya steals the fragment, which had been forged into the sword of Excalibur but is caught by Stargirl. She confesses her love for Arthur and entrusts the fragment with him.

With Ray (and his lightsaber) having joined Guinevere’s army, the Legends find a way to reverse the brainwashing of Arthur and his Knights, they succeed as Arthur defeats Evil Rip. Not one to stick around and help, Damien flees leaving Rip behind and Ray gives pursuit. The two battle and just when it looks like Ray had gained the upper hand, Damien shots him. Nate finds Ray who survives the shot due to his suit of armor.

Now imprisoned in the brig of the Waverider, Rip contacts Gideon and there we learn that Gideon had been programmed to be loyal to him. This makes things very interesting when Legends of Tomorrow returns in April.

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
