THE WALKING DEAD: “Something They Need” RECAP

We are a week away from the extended finale of season seven of The Walking Dead. This has been an emotional rollercoaster of a season. Now things seem to be coming around full circle. Warning, spoilers ahead…

Last week we saw that Sasha took it upon to go in alone to kill Negan. It didn’t take us too long to find out that she had failed and now Sasha resides in the same cell Daryl spent during the early part of  the season. After one of Negan’s men tried to force himself on her, Negan kills the man with his knife and then offers Sasha a choice to either kill herself, let the man he just killed become a walker and die that way or join the Saviors. Later, Eugene visits Sasha and confesses that joining the Saviors was the best decision for his survival and encourages her to consider Negan’s offer. She confides in Eugene that she rather die than fight her friends. She begs him for a way out. He complies by giving her a poison capsule he made.

Meanwhile, Tara leads Rick and the group to Oceanside in hopes that they could convince them to join the other communities to fight against the Saviors. Oceanside leader Natania refuses. She recalls the way the Saviors killed the men of their community and will not have any more blood spilled.  A reluctant Natania allows Rick’s group to take their guns as some Oceansider’s show a willingness to standup and fight while others rather not. When the group arrives at Alexandria,  they are greeted by Rosita. She tells Rick that there is someone who wants to talk to him. It turns out that someone is Dwight. Game on!

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it. So bring your Phaser (set to stun), Lightsaber, Sonic Screwdriver, a Wand, Mjolnir or the Ring to rule them all, because this site is for the dork in all of us.
