(UN)JUSTICE LEAGUE MOVIE

Hello my fellow Dorks and Dorkettes. Last month when I unveiled The Man of Steel trailer, I talked about the possibly of a future Justice League film. I also mentioned that a lot will depend on this latest Superman adventure on whether or not a JL film will even be made. Now there are rumors that Warner Brothers has scraped screenwriter Will Beal’s initial draft and may bring in new writers to fix it.

The problem I have with this is that I think Warner is over thinking this project like they do every other DC Comic property. Why do you think we’ve only had predominately Batman and Superman features? Green Lantern not withstanding. The suits at WB for one reason or another have not shown any confidence in their own product. Marvel will always have the edge because they have their own production studio and are fully invested in their own property. How hard is it to plant a seed in the films that can help advance a Justice League film? Have Perry White make a comment about a “winged vigilante” in Gotham. Have Amanda Waller, who appeared in Green Lantern have a cameo in The Man of Steel. Green Lantern for all its problems did very well with its Sinestro “yellow turn” in the ending credits. This isn’t rocket science. This should be fun.  Maybe WB should look at some fan films on YouTube to get their inspirations. They have a built in audience that is hungry for their heroes. In the coming days, I’ll have my own thoughts on who I think should play these iconic characters.
May the Dork be with you,
JPB

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
