Yesterday #WarnerBros announced their plans for a DC Cinematic Universe. While it may be exciting to see such a commitment their approach leaves much to be desired by me. The fact that there is no tie in whatsoever to their successful television properties like #Arrowand now #TheFlash, makes no sense. Even Gotham with the right amount of writing could be worked in there and be plausible. You have a built in following with Arrow and the actor who plays him in #StephenAmell. Why not tap into that obvious goldmine? Do the opposite of Marvel by using your TV property as the launching point for the cinematic universe.
Why recast The Flash with someone else when #GrantGustin has already established himself in that role? The fanpage on FB has over 1.4 million likes and Arrow 5.5. Aren’t you undermining your own product by changing things? How cool would it have been if say Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen reads about the destruction of Metropolis and sees a picture of #BenAffleck as Bruce Wayne regarding Wayne Enterprises in that same article and decides to call his friend. It’s subtle yet effective. Or do a name drop that Bruce Wayne is on the line. I guarantee that the public as a whole will be more accepting and equally more excited about this ambitious project that Warner has laid out if they tie it all together. What’s a shame is that you have actors like Amell who want to be part of and be committed to this bigger universe but seem to be shutout. There’s an old saying, if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it. That’s my two cents. Your thoughts? #FixingDCCinematicUniverse
