A new feature I’m testing out with my readers is looking into and reviewing the bi-monthly subscription of the Marvel Collector Corps. I’ll also be doing Legion of Collectors from DC and Smugglers Bounty from Star Wars in future installments. Think of these as Loot Crate but for specific themed products thanks to our friends over at Funko. The March box for Marvel Collector Corps was all about Deadpool.
As soon as you open the case you are immediately greeted with both a collectors pin and patch. These are pretty cool and could either be worn or displayed. Personally I like displaying them but that’s a personal choice and there is no right or wrong way to show these collectibles off. There are some real goodies when you open the rest of the box. Funko included some really neat stuff like a Dorbz Deadpool figure, a plush Deadpool, a Funko Pop exclusive that you can only get through the Corps, a special edition comic book and a T-shirt of excellent quality. A side note regarding the t-shirt, they seem to be of the athletic variety. This means, I would suggest looking into getting a size bigger to guarantee a relaxing fit.
If you’re looking into subscribing for the Marvel Collector Corps, there are two ways to do so. There’s the affordable Collector Program where you’ll receive $50 worth of swag for only $25 plus shipping and handling every other month with no commitments. Or for $150 (+ s/h) you can enroll in the Hero Program, a 1 year subscription with an exclusive bonus on your anniversary. All in all, I would say these are good deals and for six times a year, it’ll feel like Christmas when you receive one of these in the mail. If you’re interested but unsure, do the Collector Program. As I said, there’s no commitment and you can cancel at any time. If collecting is something you enjoy, these subscription boxes is a wonderful and fairly inexpensive way to go.
May the Dork be with you,
