GOTHAM: BURN THE WITCH… RECAP

It was a very busy episode of Gotham Monday night had a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Sone of it was good, some of it was bad and some of it was strange as in Hugo. Warning, spoilers ahead…

“Burn the Witch” finds Fish Mooney trying to locate Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong) to find out how he can help her with her draining power that was injected into her to begin with at Arkham. While Fish is on a mission to save herself, journalist Valerie Vale is on a mission of her own when she tries to entice Gordon into helping her locate Fish for a big scoop. As this is happening, a kidnapped Bruce finally comes face to face to a member of the Court of Owls.
Bruce does his best to stand up to the Court represented here by a woman named Catherine whom Bruce recognizes, but he’s severely outmatched by her. Basically, Catherine stated that she and the Court of Owls (although she doesn’t refer to them by that name), could weather any storm Bruce could challenge them with. Without much leverage, Bruce yields and gives up his pursuit of his parents killers.
Penguin is becoming quite the politician holding press conferences regarding Fish Mooney and the threat she holds over Gotham. His popularity among the people of Gotham is definitely something to keep a close eye on. And yet, when he had an opportunity to kill her, he couldn’t and let her go free with a captured Hugo Strange in tow. He does however warns her to disappear and never return.
Then there is Ivy, the new Ivy (Maggie Geha). In the premiere last week saw a younger looking Ivy seemingly fall to her death in what appeared to be a drainage system. Now she wakes up much older and confused by how this could’ve happened but likes what she sees otherwise. She also ends up killing a man who tossed out a dying plant. This character should make things very interesting.

Next week the Mad Hatter appears and looks very scary. It will be interesting to see what affect the return of Lee (Morena Baccarin) will have on Gordon especially now that Valerie is in the mix and who Gordon shared a kiss with to close out the episode.
May the Dork be with you,
