DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: WINTER FINALE RECAP

Legends of Tomorrow just keeps getting better and so has the settings. This time the gang arrives in 1927 Chicago and face-off against Al Capone. Warning, spoilers ahead…

The Legends learn that Eobard Thawne, Damien Darhk and Malcolm Merlyn aka The Legion of Doom, had arrived and aligned themselves with Capone. They need to protect history and prevent Capone from killing Eliot Ness. When Ness gets critically injured, Ray and Nathan vie for the chance to impersonate the famed G-Man. This leads to some of the best comic relief moments of the season as well paying much respect to the classic The Untouchables film.
Meanwhile back on the Waverider, Mick begins to have hallucinations of Snart (Wentworth Miller). In these hallucinations, Snart constantly belittles Mick for becoming more like his teammates. Thinking it makes him look weak. As this is happening to Mick, Thawne abducts both Sara and Martin. As Thawne tortures Martin, Merlyn offers Sara a chance to not only save Martin but also change her past if she returns the amulet she stole from Darhk. She initially refuses. The team arrives in time to rescue both. But the Martin they saved turns out to be Thawne in disguise. He proceeds to turn the Waverider inside out in search of the amulet. Merlyn also arrives and battles Sara where she bests him. Still, knowing that Martin’s safety was at stake, Sara decided to surrender the amulet in exchange for Martin’s life.

In the end as they always do, The Legends succeed in keeping the timeline intact. Ray and Nathan tip off Ness about looking into Capone’s tax records. Not everything has a happy ending as Thawne shares with Darhk and Merlyn the completed amulet that projects a holographic map. This map shows the location of the Spear of Destiny. This spear is said to have the ability to rewrite reality. The three Legion of Doom members now must locate Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), who is revealed to be living in 1967 Los Angeles as a movie director. One could only wonder what’s in store for not only Rip but for The Legends as well. Legends of Tomorrow will return in January 2017.
May the Dork be with you,

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
