MARVEL’S AGENTS OF SHIELD: THE PATRIOT RECAP

The Inhuman storyline at the center of this season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has made this fourth season the best one yet. Warning, spoilers ahead…

As it turns out, Director Mace is nothing more than version of Captain America and not Inhuman as we first were led to believe. He’s a product of a government experiment spearheaded by General Talbot. I do wish actor Adrian Pasdar would appear more often because he is very good as Talbot. Now, with greater threats looming like Radcliffe’s L.M.D. and Senator Nadeer’s involvement with the Watch Dogs moving front and center, this revelation becomes more intriguing as the season moves forward. Knowing now who and what Mace really is, Coulson takes over as the leader of SHIELD even if Mace remains the face of it as its Director.

As for Radcliffe and the entire L.M.D. storyline, unlike his first creation Aida, May’s L.M.D. was unaware of what she is. This adds a new dimension to the character given that faux May was able to see that she is a machine after being damaged in a fight. Radcliffe saw Aida’s self-awareness as a problem that want repeated when he kidnapped May and created her L.M.D. But now that faux May knows “something” is different about her, this should propel this storyline forward into an interesting direction. Least we forget the real May who looks to face off against Aida.

This season has proved thus far that not everything needs to have the big screen treatment to be worthy of discussion or praise. I don’t think another Ghost Rider film is necessary. Nor do I believe an Inhuman feature is needed. Sometimes less is more and this season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is proving that old sentiment.

James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
