THE WALKING DEAD: “Say Yes” RECAP

One of the greatest strengths of The Walking Dead is its compelling stories. One of the biggest knocks is when the series seemingly has a throwaway episode or two during the season. Sunday’s “Say Yes”, was one of those, kind of. Warning, spoilers ahead…

For much of the episode we watch Rick and Michonne hunt for guns and supplies and later make out. Wash, rinse and repeat. They’re doing this as part of their agreement with the Scavengers. After Rick and Michonne come across a school carnival full of walkers and loads of guns, things look to turn badly when Rick slips and falls into an area with no escape and a herd of walkers close in on him. Michonne races over and it looks like Rick is being eaten. She freezes until Rick reappears after hiding inside a crate and the two fight off the remaining walkers. They embrace and Michonne later confesses that she can’t afford to lose Rick. Rick feels the same but knows war is coming and more lives will be lost.

Rick and company bring the guns to Jadis and she says that it’s not enough if they want them to join their fight. She demands more. Rick reluctantly agrees.

Meanwhile, Tara is torn between her loyalty to Rick and the people of Alexandria and what she knows about Oceanside and the weapons they seek. Then there’s Rosita who travels to Hilltop to talk to Sasha. The two set aside their feelings and make a pact to kill Negan.

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
