Just when you thought things were looking up for Hook, his pirate past comes back to haunt him. Warning, spoilers ahead…
“Murder Most Foul”, finally shows us how David’s father Robert was murdered and the events that led to his death. It seems like with anything tragic it always ties back to Rumple. David’s parents made a deal with Rumple to save their twins by having one of them in this case, James be taken away and be raised by King George. Years later when it seems that James had been kidnapped, Robert goes off to find his son and bring him back home where he belongs. With Rumple’s help and some assistance from Pinocchio, he tracks down James at Pleasure Island. Before Robert could leave, King George arrives and orders Robert’s execution.
In present day Storybrooke David is haunted by his father’s death and has visions of Robert. Hook offers to help David find the answers he seeks but warns him about wanting vengeance against Albert/King George. Hook is also troubled by the idea of not getting David’s blessings to marry Emma. Learning that Pinocchio was one of the last to see Robert, David talks to August who tells him that Robert was not only sober but all he wanted was to reunite his family. The truth about his father comforts David and he no longer sees visions of Robert. David has found peace at last. He even gives Hook his blessing to marry Emma. The truth of who really murdered Robert is later revealed after August gives Hook the missing pages from his story. Hook looks over the illustration and recognizes Robert as the man he murdered in the Enchanted Forest. Hook is devastated and takes out the ring he was going to give Emma and puts it away, unsure what to do next.
Meanwhile, Wish Realm Robin is not like the Robin that stole Regina’s heart. This Robin seems to have an ulterior motive to coming to Storybrooke after he steals a heart from Regina’s vault.
