THE FLASH: “Abra Kadabra” RECAP

There’s a chill in the air on the latest episode of The Flash, “Abra Kadabra” Warning, spoilers ahead…

The criminal Abra Kadabra has arrived from the 64th century and is pursued by Gypsy who seeks revenge for her partner’s death. Kadabra has been stealing hi-tech devices to use for a time machine that will allow him to return to his own time. After being captured by Team Flash, Kadabra offers Barry the identity of Savitar for his freedom. This angers Gypsy becomes she wants to take him back to face justice. A desperate Joe hoping to save Iris, frees Kadabra only to have Gypsy interfere. Kadabra escapes and retrieves a power source from Thawne’s time vault and triggers an explosion that severely injures Caitlin. Cisco and Julian consider removing Caitlin’s necklace that suppresses her Killer Frost persona but Caitlin refuses. Instead, she instructs Julian to do the surgery and he was able to save her life.

Meanwhile, as Kadabra attempts his return to his time, the team along with Gypsy stop him. He once again uses his knowledge of the future to bargain for his freedom before returning to Earth-19. Kadabra informs Barry that Savitar is the foe that breaks him taking the thing he holds most dear. Obviously all signs point to Iris but Barry doesn’t go for it. Instead, he lets Gypsy take Kadabra to face the justice he deserves and decides that the only way to save Iris’ life,  is to travel to the future.

Later, as Caitlin continues to recover she begins to lose consciousness and then starts convulsing. Julian, Cisco and HR try to save her but she flat-lines and dies. Julian then rips the necklace from her neck and Caitlin comes back to life, but as Killer Frost.

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
