THE FLASH: “I Know Who You Are” RECAP

Not sure if the revelation of Savitar’s identity was all that surprising given all the fan theories that has emerged over the last few weeks. There were plenty of clues along the way. But before we get to that, let’s talk about “I Know Who You Are”. Warning, spoilers ahead…

After Barry returned from the future with news on how to trap Savitar in the speed force thanks to Tracy Brand, a failing Physicist who discovers a way four years too late to save Iris. Barry, Cisco and H.R. visit Brand in her lab only to meet Killer Frost who is there to kill Tracy. The team realize that Frost is now working for Savitar which makes keeping Tracy safe. Team Flash brings Tracy to STAR Labs and shown what her future would be.

After disappointing Savitar for not killing Tracy, Killer Frost now sets her sights on Joe’s girlfriend, Cecile as a bargaining chip to get the team to turn over Tracy. This leads to a one on one battle between her and Cisco. This was one of my favorite scenes of the episode. Up to this point, Cisco held back to not hurt Caitlin that he knows is very much alive and well inside the mind of Killer Frost.  Cisco mustered up enough vibe power to overtake Frost and defeat her. His victory was short-lived after Savitar arrived and took Frost away. Cisco was able to draw some blood in the hopes of finding a cure.

That night while Barry, Iris, Joe and Wally were discussing Joe’s relationship with Cecile and letting her in on who Team Flash is, Barry starts putting clues together about Savitar’s identity and races out to face him. The two meet outside of town and Savitar reveals himself as a future Barry Allen.

Honestly, I am not sure how I feel about this. I do have a lot of faith in the creators and show runners to bring this home in a satisfying way. With only about three episodes to go, let’s hope that faith is not misplaced.

May the Dork be with you,

James aka “The Dork Knight” is a blogger and writer based out of Upstate New York. For James, it all started with a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… when he dragged his mom to see The Empire Strikes Back 10 weeks in a row. He lives and breathes nerd culture. James is proof that a Star Wars fanatic can be a passionate Trekkie as well. So much so James dressed up as Captain Kirk to the premiere of Star Trek VI in 1991 and still has the uniform. When it comes to Comic Books, Sci-Fi or Fantasy whether in print or digital, in the theatre or on my TV screen, I’m all about it and I love it.
