THE FLASH – “The Trial of the Flash” RECAP

The Flash returned Tuesday night with Barry standing trial for the murder of Clifford DeVoe. Warning, spoilers ahead….

With Cecile representing him, Barry refuses to confess that he is the Flash which surely would help his cause and possibly lead to his freedom. Meanwhile, Cisco and Joe go and investigate what was causing people to unexpectedly collapse all over Central City. The metahuman called Fallout is later discovered and detected as someone who produces radiation, causing his victims to experience radiation poisoning. Barry accuses himself from his own trial prior to the verdict to take on Fallout, but soon finds out that even the fastest man alive was not equipped to deal with the situation.

Cisco and Harrison convince Caitlin to become Killer Frost to help Barry only to be incapacitated after Fallout breaks free from her freezing technique. Barry counters by creating a vacuum seal around Fallout to contain the radiation giving Cisco enough time to transport that radiation to the dead planet of Earth-15. While Barry and Team Flash once again save the people of Central City, Barry is found guilty of murder and is sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole. Barry is escorted into Iron Heights Penitentiary and is put into the same cell once occupied by his dad Henry.

Not the greatest episode this season but good enough given the hiatus. It will be interesting to see how Team Flash manages to defeat DeVoe and prove Barry’s innocence at the same time without Barry’s help. Next week’s episode focuses on Ralph Dibny, his checkered past and where he fits among the team with Barry’s absence.

May the Dork be with you,
